We Love God. We Love God's People.

What We Believe

Coryell Community Church is about reaching all people with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. In more specific terms, we strive to reach unchurched and dechurched people of our community. This means that we welcome anyone and believe that everyone has value and is worthy of love here at Coryell Community Church. If you are seeking God and wanting to find a sense of community, we believe that you will not be disappointed.

Trinity

There is one God who is made up of the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26, Matthew 3:13-17, Mark 1:9-11, Luke 3:21-22)

Creator

The triune God created the universe. Genesis 1:26 says "...Let us make man in our image, in our likeness..."

God With Us

We believe that man "fell" and the Son, Jesus Christ, was sent to redeem us. He was born of a virgin, and while on earth was fully human and fully God. This is traditionally referred to as the incarnation. (John 1:14, Galatians 4:4)

Holy Bible

The Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the highest and final authority on what we should believe and how we should live our lives. (2 Timothy 3:16)

New Life

As expression of faith, the Bible instructs us to repent of our sins. This expression of faith is followed by water baptism to demonstrate our union with Him in His death, burial, resurrection. All believers should seek to live a holy life, for no one will see the Lord without holiness. While we cannot be perfect, we must grow and mature in our walk with God, through Christ our Lord. (Luke 13:3, Acts 2:38, Acts 17:30, Romans 6:3-5, 1 John 2:6)

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit lives within Christians to be with us "forever" (John 14:16-17), and guides us (John 14:26). He is referred to as Teacher, Counselor, Intercessor; He is the Spirit of Truth.

Resurrection

Jesus Christ died on the cross and was physically resurrected three days later. When he returns, both believers and non-believers will be resurrected. Believers will join Him in Heaven, while non-believers will receive eternal punishment. (John 3:36)

Savior

In order to be saved, we must trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. (John 14:6)

Peace

Everyone who has accepted Jesus Christ is living the "eternal life". We are called to live life in the security of the love of God, not in continual fear of judgment. (1 John 1:2, 1 John 3:1-3)
